SoyXpress is a database (MySQL) designed for exploring the soybean transcriptome. Currently (November 2007) SoyXpress houses 377,095 soybean Expressed Sequence Tags (EST), linked with metabolic pathways, Gene Ontology terms, SwissProt identifiers and Affymetrix gene expression data. Array data is available from an experiment profiling global gene expression of three conventional and two genetically engineered soybean cultivars. The microarray data is linked with the sequence data, for maximum knowledge extraction.
What can you do in SoyXpress? If you are looking for:
- information on soybean genes, and know the identifier(s) or key word(s), use the Soy Search page functions.
- soybean sequences in certain gene ontologies, use the gene Ontology functions at the bottom of Soy Search page.
- information on a list of genes that you have, use the Batch Search page.
- If you want to know if a certain sequence is represented on the Affymetrix array, use the Blast Search page to run a BLAST analysis of your sequence against all sequences from the Affymetrix soybean chip.
- soybean sequences in certain pathways, use the Pathway Search page. (These are KEGG pathways).
- pairwise comparative analysis of soybean microarray data, or data visualization, use the Microarray Experiment page.
